ROBERT “CLEO” HENDERSON, 96, died Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Hendrick Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Hawley. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.

Born December 31, 1924, in Anson, Cleo was a son of the late Robert Cecil and Clarcie (Bearden) Henderson. He married Janie Beth Goodrich July 21, 1950, in Abilene. They moved to Hawley in 1964 where Cleo was a farmer and owned a water drilling company. He later owned Henderson Drilling in North Dakota and in Colorado. Cleo was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hawley.

Cleo was remembered saying that “God sure picked a good color…. green” as he drove through his fields. Green was Cleo’s favorite color. Cleo also left behind the importance of hard work, personal character and most importantly his love for the Lord.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, his wife (Janie Beth Henderson), a daughter (Rebecca Henderson), two brothers, three sisters, and two sons-in-law (Clark Brazee and Dan Scheeler).

Survivors include three daughters, Robbin Brazee, Ronda Scheeler and Julie Morris (and husband, Harvey); one sister, Sue Linam; seven grandchildren, Brandy Switzer (and husband, Creath), Joshua Brazee, Tyler Scheeler (and wife, Andi), Logan Scheeler (and wife, Rebecca), Kirby Scheeler, Ryann Cordova (and husband, Mike) and Kady Bullock (and husband, Justin); nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Fort, Alyssa Nix, Brayden Scheeler, Cleo Beth Scheeler, Boston Bullock, Kinsler Bullock, Alex Cordova and Drayden Cordova; and two great great-grandchildren, Aaron Nix and Allison Scheeler.

Family visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anson.
