Mitchell “Mitch” Don Richardson

August 28, 1957 - October 27, 2021

Mitch Richardson left this earth to be with his heavenly father on October 27, 2021. Born at Fort Richardson, Alaska on August 28, 1957 (before Alaska became state)to Clair Edward and Doris Marie Jennings Richardson, Mitch had an adventurous soul. Traveling cross country on his mule, he met many people. At one point, Mitch decided to head for the hills, and that he did. Ordering a tee-pee from a magazine, he found a spot in the mountains, pitched his tee-pee and lived in it throughout the winter. Eventually he moved into a mountain cabin and lived off the land for many years. Later, Mitch worked as a firefighter, parachuting into the middle of forest fires to help put them out. He was an avid hunter and guided people through the mountains that he loved. A memorial was held in Salmon, Idaho where many gathered to honor Mitch.

Everyone there agreed that Mitch is a legend and made a huge impact on so many people. He had a huge group of friends that crossed the line into being like family.

Mitch was predeceased by his father and one great nephew, Jackson. Surviving Mitch are his loving mother,

his son Cobalt (Rita) Richardson, his daughter Brandy Richardson, and his sweet granddaughters Naya and Lana Also surviving are siblings: Barefoot Bob (Sherry) Richardson, Cheryl (John) Poor, Janet Brinegar, Pamela (Jeff) Raspberry and Jackie (Russell) Eoff, his nieces and nephews: Jay, Amanda, Lacey, Chelsey, Alexandria, Cody, Seth, and Tara, and honorary niece Tiffany Waddell. Mitch is also survived by eight great nieces and nephews, four honorary nephews, and one great nephew on the way.

At his request, some of Mitches ashes will be taken in a backpack hunting in the mountains, and some will be interred next to his father in Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, Jones County, Texas.
