ANSON – ELIZABETH MERONEY, 95, died Monday, May 16, 2022, at her home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. John’s Methodist Church in Stamford. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home of Anson.

Born November 21, 1926 on the family farm in Truby, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Clint Rhea and Esther Bonds. She married Howard Meroney February 7, 1954 in Anson. Howard and Elizabeth built their home on the family farm where Elizabeth was born. He preceded her in death in 1984. Elizabeth worked as an office clerk for the ASCS until her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered for the church and Anson Meals on Wheels. West Texas Rehab sponsored bus trips where she was able to travel with many friends all over the country. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son (Chip Meroney) and a granddaughter (Maggie Davidson).

Survivors include a son, Jacob Meroney (and wife, Debra) of Rockdale; a daughter, Becky Davidson (and husband, Paul) of Levelland; two grandsons, Steven Davidson (and wife, Cherakee) of Levelland and Michael Davidson of Levelland; and a great-grandson, Jonah Davidson of Levelland.

Family visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
