Lefty Morrow
Horace Clyde "Lefty" Morrow 89, of Hawley passed away Wednesday May 11, 2022. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 27th at 10 am at Clearfork Baptist Church in Hawley with Dick Griffith officiating, under the direction of Girdner Funeral Home, Abilene. Lefty was born September 18, 1932, in Abilene to Walter and Alice Morrow. He married Betty Lou Moore on October 19, 1957, in Austin, Texas.
Lefty and Betty made their home in Hawley. Lefty spent his life farming and ranching in and around Jones County. To know Lefty was to know a good man, a man of honor, a man whose handshake and his word meant something. He always had time for a domino game at the Hodges Gin. He could tell you stories for hours. He loved to fish. Him and Betty took vacations to Colorado with the boys, grandkids, nieces and nephews. It's a tradition that will live on.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, his son, Loren, his four brothers, Walter, Jack, Jiggs, Rosey, his sister, Glynn "Sug" Pavlack and his daughter in law Rita.
Lefty is survived by his sons Mark, of Noodle, Gary and wife Eloisa, of Hawley, Cody and wife Catherine, of Abilene, Monty and wife Debra, of Hawley, and Matt of Hawley. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ben Richey Boys Ranch, West Texas Rehab or to a favorite charity.
