EVA BETH HUBER, 78, died Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Born on November 11, 1944 (Armistice Day) at Hendricks Medical Center, Beth was one of three daughters of the late William Dennis (Jake) Hagler and Bertha Mae (Scott) Hagler of Anson. She graduated from Anson High School in 1963. She attended West Texas State University (Canyon, Texas). She married her high-school sweetheart Roger Huber on August 28, 1965 in Anson. She graduated from WTSU in 1966. Shortly afterwards, she taught Elementary for Hereford ISD. In 1975, the family moved to Anson where she taught elementary. In 1977, she launched a successful sewing business as “The Schoolmarm Originals”, so that she could work from home as her children grew up. She was quite the artist and creative spirit. She designed beautiful embroidered purses, jumpers, skirts, aprons on denim by hand. She loved her family and loved hosting friends and family in her home with her fabulous baking and cooking skills. After a number of years of selling her wares in arts and craft shows, she re-entered the teaching profession at Anson ISD, where she proudly taught children of all ages; she had such compassion and love for all her students. For those that met her, she reminded them that she was a retired school teacher of a twenty-four year career.

Traveling became a favorite pastime of Beth and Roger. As they retired they traveled all over the country and took their family on Christmas cruises, which was their favorite. Momma Beth loved her grandchildren, Gracie and Mattie. She loved to attend their basketball, volleyball games, and theater performances all over West Texas. She enjoyed going to Dallas/Ft. Worth area and even New York for musicals with JoBeth and spending her evenings playing chickenfoot with the family.

She is survived by her son, John-Paul Huber (and wife, Dana) of Midland; one daughter, JoBeth Huber Willis (and husband, Tim) of Abilene; one sister, Joan Curtis of Pflugerville; two grandchildren, Gracie Huber of Georgetown and Mattie Huber of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.
