2025 Player to Watch Camden Ables, Hawley Receiver/Defensive end

 By Carlos Rosado Camden Ables is 17 years old going on 34. Instead of paying a mortgage, the 6’4″, 210-pound pass catcher will evict defenders off his back and take countless receptions to the house. Camden Ables (TE/WR/ DE, Hawley) said, “I think I’m improving by getting faster and stronger in the weight room and things like that.” Mitch Ables (Head Coach, Hawley) said, “We’re look ing for him to be a big leader for us, too. He’s got a lot of opportunities to be a good leader and a good player for us on both sides of the ball.“ He will be a good lead er. Camden’s been around Hawley football for so long, and for the first time in six seasons, the Bearcats are not the defending district cham pions. That brings a different kind of hunger. Camden Ables continued, “We’re always wanting to win that title, and coming off not winning it for the f irst time in five or six years, we’re always wanting to get it back.” Mitch Ables added, “You know, not having the district title under your school name is kind of a hit. You just have to pick up the pieces, put the puzzle together, and try to go get it.“ Despite losing a lot of seniors — including older brother Keagan — Camden, Coach Ables, and Hawley football always excel at maximizing the talent they have. “I think I’m improving by getting faster and stronger in the weight room and things like that.”
