Anson GED Program Relaunches: Funding Secured, Enrollment Sessions Announced

September 08, 2025

The Anson GED Class is officially reopening its doors, offering a vital second chance for adults in the community to earn their high school equivalency diploma. The program's return comes after successfully securing the necessary funding, ensuring its availability to aspiring students.

Prospective students must attend at least one of two mandatory enrollment sessions scheduled for this month at the Anson High School Library. These sessions will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, and Thursday, September 11th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Organizers stress that ID requirements have changed this year. Attendees will need to bring their Social Security Card along with a valid ID that complies with the updated list (students are advised to consult the specific ID list, likely provided via local notices or the program's contact, to ensure their identification is acceptable). Due to necessary forms and pre-tests, participants should plan to spend the full three hours at the session.

For those unable to attend the initial sessions, a subsequent enrollment opportunity is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4th, also from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Classes are set to begin on Tuesday, September 23rd. It is crucial for all students to complete the enrollment process before attending any classes.

The GED classes will meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Anson High School Library.
