Brenda Martin

Brenda Martin, 59, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Hendrick Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Clearfork Baptist Church in Hawley. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home of Anson.

Born November 6, 1961, in Troy, NY, Brenda was a daughter of the late Richard and Mary Zaukowski Ashton. She married Jessie Martin June 2, 2000. Brenda worked for Hawley ISD and later worked for Abilene ISD as a bus driver for 25 years.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and a brother-in-law (Jimmy Penney).

Survivors include her husband, Jessie Martin of Hawley; one son, Dustin Twombly (and wife, Kalee) of Anson; three daughters, Bobbi Jo Thomas (and husband, Joshua) of Abilene, Tabitha Twombly (and husband, Shannon) of Anson, Amy Salge (and husband, Johnny Lee) of Hawley; two brothers, John Ashton (and wife, Mel) of Ohio and Richard Ashton (and wife, Vanessa) of Albany, NY; three sisters, Judy Penney of Hawley, Nicole Cusack (and husband, Johnny) of Washington, Gloria Greaver (and husband, Bruce); many adopted and biological grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Brenda never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her home.

Family visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anson.
